A Coiled Spring
19/03/10The cold prolonged Winter had, until the middle of this month, stopped the energy of Spring's coil from being released. But now with the rise in temperature (17deg C. yesterday) I have many types of crocus in flower, tips of Snakeshead Fritillariies (hopefully), and Round Headed House Leeks (hopefully) poking above the soil. Earlier this week I saw 2 Robins disappear into an evergreen shrub in my garden and they did not seem to be in a hurry to come out again. I have also seen Collared Doves "kissing" and yesterday a large Clouded Yellow butterfly hovered to and fro across my line of sight; although I fear it may have been a little premature in finding a food source so early in the season. On my way out in the afternoon of yesterday I noticed 3 Ladybirds crowded together in a space no bigger than a 5p coin. The spring of Spring begins to uncoil!
