Peregrine Falcon Chick Dies

Regular visitors to this page will know that I have recently posted small articles recently regarding the progress of the peregrine falcon nesting platform erected on the spire of Norwich cathedral to encourage some local peregrines to make a nest there. An egg was laid on Easter Sunday, April 24th, and after about 6 weeks of consatant attention and protection from the hot sunshine the egg finally hatched a few days ago. Sadly the chick was in a very immature state, and in spite of the the adult parent trying to revive her youngster the chick died. When I last looked on the webcam
the picture showed a totally empty nesting platform, so one has to assume that the peregrine falcon has decamped somewhere else. The above link might not be in existence for much longer.
