Two Weeks in May
17/06/10The first half of June produced fairly average daytime temps. here in Norfolk, but the night-time temp. were on average about 6 deg. warmer than the norm. This was particulary noticeable during the second week when the minimum temp. at night was 14.1 deg. on the 9th. The days of the 2nd to the 5th were very warm and sunny with the 5th producing the warmest day of the month so far at 25.6 deg. On the 6th a thundery downpour produced 15.0mm of rain which heralded the start of a more unsettled spell of weather. On the 8th another downpour produced 12.5mm of rain amid the sound of thunderstorms not far from here. As we start the 3rd week of the month a high pressure area is declining somewhat, but it has been dictating the weather and this has produced northerly type airflows over the country which makes the otherwise average temps. for June seem quite chilly.
