Weather Notes

Below Normal Night Time Temperatures for July

July was a fairly normal month regarding the average maximum temperature of 22.2C (long-term average = 21.1C), but the night time minimum average temperature was 0.6C lower than normal, which is unusual as the minimum temperatures I record are usually higher than the norm due to global warming. The number of raindays was average at 13, but 25% more rain than normal was recorded for July. Nearly all the rain fell between the 5th and 21st of the month, with the 3rd week being the wettest. The last 9 days of July were predominantly dry and warm although there were several overcast days and a very cold night on the 31st (5.2C) contrasted dramatically with a humid 28.2C maximum on the same day - a temperature range of 23C in 24 hours!
